- One reason why I'm a feminist:
- One??? I can only quote Rebecca West: "Feminism is the radical notion that women are people." Feminism makes me feel alive in the world and capable of affecting change.
- About Me:
- I'm a member of the MHC class of 97, and was a Shoe from 94-97 (with a study abroad interlude between 95-96). During my time as a Shoe we produced "Untied" and "If the Shoe Fits...", and blossomed under the directorship of Sarah Deveau. I'm an active alum and am now an assistant professor of Women's Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill. I am a legal and gender history scholar of West Africa. Who I am today is a direct result of the woman I became at MHC. I love my new road bike, films, keeping up with old friends, teaching, international travel, and volunteering for the Obama campaign in North Carolina.
